The artwork brings to life the excerpts from The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano - an 18th-century account of Olaudah Equiano's journey from enslavement to freedom.
This exhibit brings together collections from across the University of Cambridge’s museums, libraries and colleges with loans from around the world to ask new questions about England’s role in the transatlantic slave trade and look at how objects and artworks have influenced history and perspectives.
This exhibit is organised by the Fitzwilliam Museum and endorsed by the Department of Global Communication Outreach Programme on the Transatlantic Slave Trade and Slavery. It is in connection with the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade (25 March).
